Design of Broadband Double-Ridge Horn Antenna for Millimeter-Wave Applications

In this paper, a broadband double-ridge horn antenna (DRHA) covering 5G millimeter-wave (mm-wave) band is proposed, which maintains stable radiation pattern and gain in the entire band. By redesigning transition between coaxial waveguide, there no splitting or deterioration axis throughout 18-54 GHz frequency band, VSWRs are all below 2. Meanwhile, by replacing H-Side wall of with metal grid, variation on 3 dB beamwidth also become more against frequencies. order to fabricate prototype successfully, method block processing assembly adopted, can ensure high precision machining make simple easy operate. Prototype measurement results show that VSWR well agreement simulation ones, while as be observed. It will find potential applications mm-wave especially field system standard calibration probe antenna.
